As I was visiting my Facebook page today, I noticed a video posted on my cousins page. I have added it to the bottom of this post to share with all of you. I must warn you that it is very depressing, but rather given at "face value." I often worry about my parents. They are nearing the age of seventy, and I know that as we age, our bodies as well as our minds start to weaken. We can do what we all think is best and take our vitamins, eat healthy, and workout, but I believe that a bigger part to our length of time on this earth has to do with our genetic code(s). I think we are all pieced together with parts delivered down from our ancestors. I do think that diet has a lot to do with our health and how many years we take from it or add to it. Now that I have children, I am more aware of what goes into our food. I am more conscious of what I put into my body as well as theirs. However, a routine visit to my doctor last week, proved that my better eating habits have now caused a high cholesterol number? Are you kidding me? Now I am eating EVEN BETTER then before, and hoping that my number lowers. The fact is, my mom, dad, sister, and probably my grandparents have or had high cholesterol. My co-worker who eats nothing but healthy foods ALL DAY (and I see it), has the highest rate of anyone I have ever heard having! So, there again, it is all in our genetic code.
Back to the posting, it is a video of an older parent asking that their child please understand if he or she becomes a burden. I have seen my grandparents wither away, and I have one left. He is sitting in a nursing home with no memory of nearly anything he did in this lifetime. I think about him often, and question if that is his Hell. Is the mind deterioration and the stench of a nursing home punishment for his sins? Is that to deep an issue to go into? Religion? It is just a cruel way for a man who served in our army, fought in our war, and worked his butt off for his family to go out. The harder part is seeing him, and having him not know who you are, or repeating himself every other sentence. Whose punishment is it? Brace yourself for "A letter from Mom & Dad"
A journey through the life of an average girl turned woman. She is educated, hard-working, married, and a mother of two. Me, Myself, Fran, would like to share the largest part of myself with you. I introduce to you: Mom, Ma, MOMMY! She was once sane, but now questions her sanity. I have become a sanctified entity to these little fragments of me. My natural instincts are to defend them ALWAYS. I welcome you to MOMMY WARS. Experience the crusade of troopers, called MOMMY.
