When you see me, see my honor

A mother is a force like no other
she stands tall, she stands proud
in her child's eyes, she stands out of the crowd

She may not always dress in a skirt, or walk with her head held high
but she will walk you to the bus stop, even if she is hurt, and she will not cry
as you step onto the bus, she turns to leave, she walks back home
with thoughts of conceive. "What shall I do, while my kids are away? I shall grocery shop, cook, clean, and all in one day!"

School has become a place that we fear, children with guns and sadly so near
where is the trust? Who has it all? It cannot be one person that makes that call
This world has changed, and not for the greater good, our children deserve a playground and not to be raised in a hood

I have become merciless, to the insolent, and pray for the innocent. My eyes fill with tears for the children
who ache, be it physical or mental their hearts are at stake

We cannot control the ways of our world, but we can try our best, as a Mom I attest. I will hold you when you are sad, listen when you are mad, be your eyes and ears when the world has let you down, and build you back up without a frown. I will hide my hurt, to stand strong for you, I love you more, it is you I adore.

When you see me, see my honor. This honor is for you, my baby turned child, my black sky is blue. You have colored my world with smiles and grand, you warm my heart with the touch of your hand. With attitude and with pride, I will be at your side. Your fight is mine, I serve on your line.
